sin of daksha

                                        PART 1

“We are, the follower of Lord Shiva the Almighty God, “the Man had said.

The man’s name was Hayat Singh.  Why would you talking like that? The son asked, awed and embarrassed.

The boy’s name was Heera Singh.

For several reasons. But the important is that your  maternal Grandfather  not given us the invitation for the Yajana ( a type of celebration when  some body incarnate himself or herself  as god or goddess  and dance  before a man who is chanting the mantra and beating dhol (a type of drum )with stick and the whole village come to watch the same and the yajana perform before the  dhoni (a holy fire )between the baramda of the house,) which they are going to organize. The little boy laughed and ignores what his father said.

I already decided to not going without invitation at the yajana . He loudly said so that his wife might hear the same conversation.

The Name of the Women is Kalawati Devi.

She heard the conversation and said we will go.

Silence ………

Again Hayat Singh told his son it was no coincidence. The boy didn’t understand what his father is taking about.

I m the owner of the forest land in near  Himalaya , I m the leader of the village people if I don’t behave for our rituals what the villager’s ask  we can’t even think to go without invitation at  yajana. The forest was all the tree and animals, we the people of forest to must understand our rituals and behave accordingly.

But the boy was quiet. Now he was curious to know what the father want to reveals.

The boy now asked the father what he wants to said.  He guesses it is about the Shiva almighty god and the rituals of the forest land Himalaya.

Hayat Singh told son it is about our “IEST DEVTA” (PERSONAL GOD) Lord Shiva.

Boy curiously asks please say, who is God Shiva and what is the story all about?

Hayat Singh sits down and asks blessing from Lord Shiva, and start the story what
He already listen from his father and many time form the elder people of the forest village.

He started the story of God Shiva and Godess Gora the Bhagwati mata (SATI).
The king of Himalya Daksa Parjapati a mighty king of the forest land Himalya the great Mountain of India. It situated in north of the India. The Daksa Parjapati had only daughters no son.
God Shiva, the image of ardhnarishwara, half-male and half-female, represents Lord Shiva as the union of substance and energy, the life principle and Shakti.Ma Sati, also known as Dakshayani is a Hindu goddess of marital longevity. The Goddess Shakti took human birth at the bidding of the god Brahma. Sati was born as a sixteenth, daughter of Daksha Prajapati and his wife Prasuti. Daksha was a son of Brahma and a great king. As the daughter of Daksha, she is also well-known as Dakshayani. An aspect of Devi, She is the first spouse of Shiva, the second being Parvati, the reincarnation of Sati herself.
Brahma's designed her destiny in such a way that she would please Shiva with humble devotions and wed him. It was natural that Sati even as a child adored the tales and legends associated with Shiva and grew up an ardent devotee of Shiva. As she grew to womanhood, the idea of marrying anyone else, as intended by her father, became abomination to her.
Daksha exploded to her decision, but Sati did not care. She was prepared to sacrifice all her comforts for the sake of her beloved Lord Shiva took her to the barren mountain where there were only beasts and reptiles to welcome her. Sati was happy to roam wildly in the wake of her unpredictable husband across the desolate Himalayan ranges and peaks, occupied by wild animals. Thus they lived there for many years and Shiva taught her many of the esoteric secrets of life known only to him. Lord Shiva is an idol of peace. He has no enmity with anyone. He is self indulgent, you know why did then Daksha Prajapati misbehave with Him? Said the man between the story, start himself again because the boy is not hearing his father concentrating,  “Once a meeting of Brahmavadis (expounders of vedas) was organized. Along with all the gods Lord Shiva and Brahma were also present in the meeting. Because of being a Prajapati, Daksha was allowed a late entry in the meeting. Moreover, when Daksha did arrive, all the gods, except Brahma and Lord Shiva, stood up to pay him regards. Honor by thousands of gods did not please Daksha as much as he felt insulted by behavior of Lord Shiva. Brahma was the father of Daksha, so he didn't mind his behavior. But seeing Lord Shiva sitting there and not paying due respect to him, Daksha got angry. He said, "He is like my disciple. I've married my daughter to him but he is uncourteous and irreligious. I committed a blunder by marrying my daughter to him. He smears ashes of pyre and roams at the cremation sites. Only the ghosts are his companions." Thus, Daksha cursed Lord Shiva. "May this Lord Shiva not get his due share along with the Gods in oblations?"
Nandi, the prominent among Lord Shiva's servers, cursed Daksha in retaliation: "May the unwise Daksha lose his mind and be like an animal always bound to a woman." Thereafter indignant Lord Shiva at once left the meeting along with his followers. But still Daksha didn't put the matter at rest. To humble Lord Shiva, he organized a grand yaga named Barhaspati. All the Brahmarishis, devarishis, pitars, gods etc. attended the yaga along with their wives.

But the destiny turned down, when once when she was wandering on the hillside she noticed many aerial vehicles passing above the mountain carrying the numerous gods. She called to them to find out where they were going. She came to know from them that her father Daksha was celebrating the grand Yajna to which everyone who is anyone has been invited. It was going to be the greatest show in the world.
Sati ran to Shiva and asked if they had received an invitation Shiva told him that since her father hates him, they were not invited and asked Sati not to go there, but Sati was adamant. She had made up her mind and nothing he said could stop her. Sadly Shiva watched her depart. He sent Nandi to carry her, to protect her if necessary. She set out with great enthusiasm. Shiva watched her go with great sorrow for he knew that he would never see her in this form again.
Sati could hardly recognize her home when she reached. Everything was decorated in a stunning manner. She descended from the bull and went inside alone. As soon as, Sati entered the sacrificial hall, none dared to look at her for fear of Daksha. Only her mother and sisters flocked to welcome her but she waved them aside.
Daksha alone was totally unaware of her entrance since he was immersed in his rituals. With measured steps she walked towards the centre of the Yajnashala where her father was seated before the blazing fire, offering ghee and various other herbs into the pit, muttering incantations all the while. Everyone watched with bated breath while she approached.
With humiliation and sadness, Sati's complexion which was normally dark became even darker. Her eyes were red with anger and blazed like hot coals, and as she glared at her father, sparks like embers flew out. Daksha turned and saw her and visibly paled beneath her blazing gaze. It was for the first time that Daksha had broken off his mutterings in the middle of a ritual. Daksha started throwing abusive words on Shiva and condemning him.
In the Sati looked at him with scorn, admonishing him of performing Yajna without inviting Lord Shiva and decided to immolate her body. So saying this, Sati turned towards the north and raised her Kundalini Shakti from the Muladhara Chakra from the bottom of her spine to the Sahasrara Chakra on the crown of her head. Her spirit disappeared through the orifice at the crown of her head, leaving the empty calcified shell of her body standing like a lucid statue. Everyone gazed in awe at what remained off.
Nandi flew back to Shiva and reported the whole disastrous turn of events which had led to their mistress' death. Shiva jumped up from the rock on which he had been sitting and plucked off one of his hairs and dashed it on the rock. Out of this sprang the enormous figure known as Virabhadra. He had worn hundreds of arms all brandishing a multitude of weapons, decked with snakes, and flower garlands. Shiva commanded him to proceed to Daksha's palace and destroy the entire sacrifice.
Far away in the yajnashala there was total silence and gloom. Daksha trembled in fear beside the fire. Into that silence, crept a noise which grew and grew like the approach of an awesome storm. Then out of the gloom there appeared Virabhadra's mountainous figure with flailing arms and weapons, indiscriminately destroying every single thing coming on his way.
Those who could flee ran for their lives, and still others were brutally trampled upon. The once beautiful yajnashala had now become a battlefield soaked with blood and scattered with limbs everywhere. Vidharbha reached his hand and gripped Daksha by the neck and hauled him off to the sacrificial pit where the animal sacrifice was normally carried out. He cut off Daksha's head and threw it contemptuously into the fire,
Having done this Virabhadhra returned to his Lord along with the other followers. In the meantime Brahma and Vishnu went to Kailasa and pleaded Shiva to withdraw his form as Rudra and allow Daksha to complete the sacrifice which was meant for the well-being of the world. Shiva approved but since Daksha's body had no head, he told them to fix the head of a goat on his trunk and allow him to complete the sacrifice.
Though he had forgiven Daksha, Shiva was filled with much agony at the death of his beloved, Sati. He went to the yajnashala and picked up her lifeless corpse and thereafter he wandered over the whole world, holding her aloft. His followers followed him silently. He wandered on and on repeating the steps of the tandava, the dance that always preceded creation and destruction.
The whole of creation was filled with grief and the gods begged Vishnu to do something before the whole world drowned in Shiva's sorrow. Vishnu followed Shiva, and then Sri Vishnu, released his sudarshana chakra, which sliced Sati's body into little pieces; and because of the desolating movement of Siva, the pieces were scattered and fell in seven different places.
At last when the whole body was gone, Shiva realized that there was nothing more in his arms. He retired to his mountain fastness and went into deep Samadhi and refused to meet anyone.
It is believed that all the spots where parts of this body fell are shakti sthalas, and even today they are worshipped in various parts in this country. Those places where Sati's limbs had fallen came to be known as Shakti Peethas, where the power of the divine mother was most devotedly felt.
Later on Sati was reincarnated as Goddess Parvati, daughter of mountain-king Himalaya and Queen Maina. The great saga then portrays her union with her chosen lord Mahadev and how they came together never to be separated again. One of the most captivating and intriguing tales of love, this story is credited as the first love story of the universe.

In between the story Kalavati ask him, why Daksha’s enmity with Lord Shiva, her husband turned behind and saw surprisingly his wife Kalavati also hearing the story .

Hayat Singh told his wife now listen what happened as per another myth.

Their son Heera singh already gone to play with his friends in near by the field of potato. There are many butterflies to play.

The wife curiously asks what happened.

Hayat Singh told listen, Once Durvasa Rishi meditated, praying to Devi Jagadambika (Goddess Sati).

She became very satisfied with this that she gave him a flower chain necklace from her body to him. One day, he went to the palace of Daksha wearing this flower necklace. Daksha was very much fond of this necklace that he let know Durvasa his wish to own it. Thus, Durvasa gave him the necklace without any hesitation. With extreme happiness, Daksha took the necklace and placed it inside his bedroom. But one night he performed sex with his wife in front of the holy necklace thus making it polluted. Lord Siva came to know about this incident and he scolded Daksha immediately. Being humiliated by Siva, Daksha developed anger against Siva and swore revenge against him.

Later, several saints decided to conduct a grand Yajna. They selected a place called Prayaga as a venue for it. Several important personnel such as BrahmaDev, Sanatanists, scholars, devas, kings. Pundits etc gathered to take part in it.  There were many competitions and debates going on in the venue. Most of them were related to science, mathematics, art, dance and music.

Lord Siva arrived there with his wife Sati. Everyone stood up in respect to the Lord of All and sat back discussing how lucky they are to have Lord Siva with them. At that time, unexpectedly, Daksha arrived. Everyone came to him to show gratitude and respect whereas Lord Siva didn't move from his seat knowing that Daksha is an egoist having pride to own all the luck and fortune without deserving it. Whereas Daksha seeing that Lord Siva immobile became angry.

"See his pride. Claiming to be a great person. Always hanging out with ghosts and demons while residing in a graveyard, yet he doesn’t have respect towards me. This is adharma. Everyone walking, talking, sitting, befriending you will become sinners. You will become a transgender. I'm cursing you. From this day forward you will be kicked out of all four casts. You will become terribly ugly and won't have a proper life. “By hearing Daksha's words all those saints present there agreed to his opinion. They misunderstood Rudra as a cruel. Devas joined with Daksha and began insulting Siva. But Siva didn't sat silently hearing all this without any reply.

Being a witness to the insult of Daksha and others towards Siva, Nandi became very angry. His eyes turned red. He shouted out," Insulting the person who balances creation, protection and destruction you fool? What do you have to insult my master like this? You are attacking against the person who is the main cause of this Yajna to be successful. How dare you make fun of him?"

Daksha became uncontrollable hearing the words from Nandi. He once again started to insult and curse Siva. Nandi replied with equal force and cursed all Brahmins including Daksha as anger towards him. Lord Siva cracked a smile seeing Nandi's aggression towards Daksha. He calmed Nandi and said, "Hey Nandi, you are a scholar. Therefore, aggression is not appropriate for you. You have just cursed Brahmins because of slight misunderstanding. Whoever can curse us but that will not affect us. Daksha's curse will never do a slight harm to us ever. You can believe me. Therefore, be cool.". Nandi turned calm hearing Siva's philosophy. They went back to Kailas.

Angry Daksha returned to his palace yet he had his aggression towards Siva building up in his mind. He spent most of his time planning to take revenge on Siva. He even started to insult those who pray to Lord Siva. He thus became a arch enemy of Siva. Thus he decided to conduct a grand Yaga and swore not to invite Siva and Sati to it.
                                                       PART 2
Kalavati now understand little bit   the problem of her husband why he don’t want go to the yajana. His wife now started to making the same chapatti before him, Heera the boy also  appeared with some wood , Hayat Singh said to boy clean your hand and foot prey to god Shiva and come for dinner they all prey, God Shiva and had dinner together and slept.

Same time Hayat Singh and heera singh also getup and went for nature call and become fresh .Now the time of breakfast she ask Hayat Singh her husband regarding the first love story of the universe . Pls say how the sati reborn as ma parvati and got married to Lord Shiva.
Hayat Singh now start the story again after sitdown and get bellesing from god shiva and start ,  As we know yesterday I told the story to you as Devi Parvati is believed to be King Daksha daughter Sati in the earlier life. Sati married Lord Shiva but King Daksha always disliked him. He often insulted Lord Shiva. Once, King Daksha organised a Yagya in which he didnt invite Lord Shiva. Sati insisted on going and thus, Lord Shiva gave her the permission. Sati was agitated as his father didn’t invite Lord Shiva and jumped into the fire.

With the death of Sati, the demons became more powerful. A demon named Tarak defeated everyone and took control of the Trilok(three world). All the Devas were terrified and went to Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma told them that only a son of Lord Shiva would be able to kill Tarak. All the Devas went to Devi and asked for her help. Listening to everything, she said that she would incarnate as Himalaya’s daughter and would marry Lord Shiva. Their son would then kill Tarak.
Tarakasura was a very powerful demon and had performed severe penances. Neither the humans nor the Devas were powerful enough to defeat Tarakasura. Tarakasura terrorised the Devas and the humans.  Though the Devas tried to fight back, they could not match the demon's power or ferocity.

Unable to fight Tarakasura, all the humans and the Devas went to Lord Brahma for help. That was when Lord Brahma told them that only Lord Shiva's child was powerful enough to destroy the demon Tarakasura.

The Devas were in a fix. Lord Shiva had married Goddess Sati. However since Sati's death, Lord Shiva had retreated to the Himalayas and was deep in penance. His meditation was so deep powerful that he could not be disturbed.

The Devas then again went to Lord Brahma for help. Brahma asked them to worship Mahadevi, the great Goddess of which Sati was an incarnation.

The Devas worshipped Mahadevi. Mahadevi appeared before them and told the Devas that she would reincarnate and marry Shiva. Their offspring would defeat Tarakasura.

Soon enough Himavat, king of Himalayan Kingdom  and his Queen Menaka had a beautiful girl child. They named the child 'Parvati'. Parvati means 'of the hills'.

Parvati was a beautiful child, full of zest in her childhood. However she was fiercely devoted to Lord Shiva. Even in her childhood she preferred praying to Lord Shiva, instead of playing with her friends.

Parvati was very well educated and very beautiful. Fame of her beauty and intelligence spread throughout the country. Princes came from different parts of the country to marry her. However Parvati rejected all of them. She wanted to marry Lord Shiva and no one else.

When she repeatedly rejected her suitors her father asked her, 'Parvati, don't you wish to get married? Why do you keep rejecting all the princes who have come?'

Parvati looked defiantly at her father, 'Father, have you seen the princes? She said looking scornfully, 'I cannot marry them...They are not what I want...'

Queen Menaka said quietly, 'Does that mean that there is someone else you want?' She asked smiling at Parvati.

Parvati blushed, 'Mother!'

King Himavat looked surprised looking from mother and daughter. 'Well, who is it?'

Parvati shyly stared at her feet and whispered, 'Lord Shiva,' her eyes shining radiantly.

King Himavat though flabbergasted at first, then slowly nodded his head. Yes Lord Shiva, the Lord of the three worlds was the good match for his daughter.

But then he remembered how Shiva had become an ascetic and was deep in penance. 'Parvati, my child. Lord Shiva has retired to the Himalayas. How can you hope to marry him...'

'Narayana...Narayana...' A mischievous voice came from behind them. All the three of them turned around startled, to see Sage Narada behind them. Sage Narada was Brahma's son and roamed all around world. He was a mischievous sage and always getting himself and others in trouble. The only reason he always escaped from being cursed was all his exploits always ended well for all the people concerned.

Sage Narada knew that Parvati was Goddess Mahadevi reincarnated and had come to marry Lord Shiva.

Parvati was the first one to salute Sage Narada. Sage Narada blessed her and said, 'You are born to be the mother of the Worlds. You have to go and fulfil your destiny.'

King Himavat and Queen Menaka also saluted Sage Narada. King Himavat then said, 'Sir, Parvati wants to marry Lord Shiva...She has just told us...'

Sage Narada then turned to Parvati, 'What you have chosen is not an easy path to follow. But you must succeed. Not just for your own sake but for the sake of many other people. It is your destiny.' Parvati felt something deep stir within her. But she still could not fully realise that she was the great Goddess Mahadevi.

Sage Narada then turned to King Himavat, 'Take your daughter to Lord Shiva. Ask him to accept Parvati's help to perform his daily prayers. '

King Himavat nodded. Sage Narada, his work accomplished vanished from there.

The next day, along with Parvati, King Himavat travelled to the foot of the Himalayas, where Lord Shiva was meditating. They waited patiently for Lord Shiva to open his eyes.

Lord Shiva opened his eyes after a long time not even aware that the two of them were there. He first saw Paravti but was not able to recognise that Parvati was infact his Shakti – his beloved Sati. He then turned his attention to King Himavat. 'What brings you here, King?' He asked.

King Himavat bowed, 'My Lord, this is my daughter Parvati. She has been your fierce devotee from her childhood. She wishes to serve you while you do your puja.'

Shiva nodded and agreed to it. 'If that is what she desires, then she can help me around.' King Himavat then left Paravti there and left for his kingdom.

Shiva nodded to Parvati, 'I am going too need some flowers for the puja. Would you please...'

Parvati nodded and left in search of the flowers...

Soon she was with Lord Shiva and helped him in everything. While he was meditating, she would wait on him gazing at him. She would have all the things ready so that he could perform the puja after his meditation.

The Devas sighed with relief when they saw Parvati waiting on Lord Shiva. They thought that soon Parvati would convince Shiva to marry her. However, as the days passed, the Devas grew worried. Parvati's charm was not working on Shiva. Shiva remained immune to her. They were not sure how long they could hold up against Tarakasura. So in order to speed things up, they went to Kamadeva – the God of Love.

Indra the Lord of the Devas explained to Kamadeva, 'I think Parvati needs our help. Shiva is not affected by Parvati's charm or beauty. I think you have to break his meditation by firing your love arrow at him so that he can atleast notice Parvati's beauty.'

Kamadeva thought that over, 'But Parvati would win over Lord Shiva. The Great Mahadevi promised us. Why should we interfere?'

Indra sighed, 'Tarakasura is becoming a menance. None of our powers combined can match his power and he has been hurting innocent people. We have speed things up...'

Finally Kamadeva agreed and decided to help them out, 'Yes. I will do it.'

Kamadeva went home to tell his wife about his 'assignment'. Rati however was not happy. 'But Shiva is deep in his penance. Won't he be angry if he learns that you have disturbed his penance?'

Kamadeva's eyes momentarily clouded. But then as he resolutely nodded his head and smiled, 'Yes. But even if it so, I have to do this. Don't worry my dear.' He said stroking Rati's cheek and smiled, 'I will be back.'

Rati gave a fearful smile and realised that her husband's mind was made up. She gave Kamadeva a forced smile and nodded her head.

Kamadeva picked up his flowery bow with the sugarcane arrows and went to the place where Shiva was meditating.

There Parvati was helping Shiva, collect the flowers. She was arranging the flowers, when Kamadeva picked up his bow and fired five arrows at Lord Shiva.

Shiva momentarily felt a sudden jerk as if being awakened. He suddenly gazed at Parvati as if realizing for the first time how beautiful she actually was. He felt captivated by Parvati's beauty and was about to talk to her, when Lord Shiva shook his head. Something is not right. I should not be thinking of this. My Sati is dead. I am performing penance. I cannot be attracted to another woman now. Lord Shiva resolutely pulled himself together. Through his power of meditation he realised that Kamadeva had been upto some mischief because of which he had lost concentration.

Lord Shiva has three eyes. His third eye is in his forehead and is always closed, for good reason. The third eye if opened would burn up anyone in its path!

Now Lord Shiva angrily blazed at Kamadeva and opened his third eye. Poor Kamadeva! He was burnt to ashes!

After burning up Kamadeva, Lord Shiva cooled down a little. He closed his third eye. But he was still angry with himself for losing his concentration. He angrily turned to Parvati, 'I do not wish you to help me. Leave me alone. Your charms will not work on me. Leave and go back to your family.' So saying Lord Shiva turned on his heel and stomped off to his retreat to continue with his penance, which had been disturbed by Kamadeva.
Parvati was distressed that Shiva had spoken harshly to her and had left her. Parvati was sure that no matter how much she cajoled Shiva, he would never agree to let her help him again.
Parvati realised that she could not give up now. The days she had been with Shiva, she realised that she was more in love with him than she realised.

She wondered how she was to make Shiva accept her, when she heard a familiar voice behind her. 'Narayana... Narayana...'

Parvati turned and saluted Sage Narada. Looking at Sage Narada she knew that he was here to offer her help. Narada smiled and said, 'You are right, my lady. Giving up is not an option. Lord Shiva cannot be won by charm and beauty, but he can be won by devotion.'

Parvati looked at Narada and realised what she had to do. She would perform penance to win her love. Parvati was not afraid of the penance. In fact she welcomed it. Without saying a word, she saluted Narada and went to a grove in the Himalayas. No matter how hard it was , she would win her love.

Rati came to know of her husband's death and came sobbing to Parvati as she was too scared to go to Lord Shiva. She cried her heart out to Parvati, who comforted her. 'Rati, listen to me. I will win Shiva.' She said resolutely, 'And when I do, I promise Kamadeva will be reborn.' Parvati spoke knowing that it would happen, perhaps not immediately. But it would.

Rati nodded her head tearfully and left the grove.

Parvati began her penance. She did not care about the hardships she had to face or about the harsh weather around her. All she cared about was that she had to win Lord Shiva.

She worshipped Lord Shiva for years, but the Lord never appeared. As Parvati meditated fiercely, she realised the truth about herself. Parvati realised that she was an incarnation of Mahadevi and that it was her destiny to become Shiva's Shakti.

She realised that she was Sati in her previous life who had given up her life because Daksha – Sati's father has insulted Shiva. She realised that her love for Shiva transcended everything, because she was for all purposes Shiva's...half. Both Shiva and Parvati were incomplete without each other.

With her meditation, Parvati became very powerful. With her powers of penance, she soon gave up all food, water or even air. The other sages meditating in the Himalayas would come and visit Parvati and admire her tenacity. Parvati was so engrossed in her meditation that she never noticed any of them.

However Parvati's penance was so powerful that the Devas could bear it no more. The whole kingdom of the Gods began to get hot as Parvati meditated. The Gods rushed to Brahma. Brahma and Vishnu together went to Shiva and told him that Parvati's penance was to end, or the whole Kingdom would burn.

Shiva realised that Parvati was not just another mortal and that she was special. But could she be my Sati. He wondered...

The next day as Parvati was about to begin her penance, when she saw a young ascetic staring at her.

Parvati looked at him, 'Is there a reason you are staring at me like that?'

'Yes' The ascetic said looking at her mystified. 'My lady, I have watching you for a few days. Once you start performing your penance I have never seen anything like it. You have not eaten. People come and go, you do not seem to realise it. Your meditation is very powerful. Why would you...' He stopped.

Parvati nodded asking him to continue.

'...What would prompt such a beautiful lady like you to perform such a penance.' The ascetic said shrugging his shoulder, 'I mean, what would be worth that...'

Parvati smiled, 'Love, young sir. Love. I do all this for love.'

The young man looked at her baffled, when Parvati smiled, 'Lord Shiva. I wish to marry him. I will win him over by my devotion.' She said simply.

When Parvati finished, the young ascetic looked surprised and then burst out laughing. Parvati looked surprised seeing the ascetic laugh.

'You wish to marry...' he said still laughing, '...Shiva. You mean the three eyed God...' He said still unable to control himself. 'I mean... why waste your beauty and intelligence on someone like that... who smears ashes on himself and wears skulls... And my Lady, did I forget to tell you he is homeless and just roams around in graveyards...Do you mean that Shiva...'

Parvati eyes started blazing when she heard the ascetic making fun of Lord Shiva, 'Yes. I mean that Shiva and also the Shiva who is the master of the three worlds.' She said pride shining in her voice. 'That Shiva who cannot be understood by pathetic puny minds like yours...' She said scornfully, wishing she had never spoke to the ascetic.

The young ascetic opened his mouth to talk, when Parvati held up her hands fiercely, 'DONT SAY ANOTHER WORD' She said emphasising each word, angry through and through. 'It is not only a sin to talk like this, it is bigger sin to listen to this rubbish...' Saying she stomped and was about to turn away, when she saw a flash. The young ascetic disappeared and standing in that place was the man whom she had dreamed her entire life. Lord Shiva...her Shiva.

Shiva looked tenderly at Goddess Parvati, thinking her words That Shiva and also the Shiva who is the master of the three worlds... She had said that with pride. When she had said that, something changed in him. He realised that she was his Shakti. She was indeed his wife reborn...

'Parvati, I am sorry. I should have realised it earlier. But...' Lord Shiva shook his head.

In their eyes they saw that they both belonged to each other. They had always been together. Just with different names. Lord Shiva was the father of the universe and Goddess Parvati the mother.

Goddess Parvati shyly turned to Lord Shiva, 'My Lord, you have to come to my father and ask for my hand. It is the proper thing to do.'

Lord Shiva nodded and went back to Kailasa, whereas Goddess Parvati returned to her father's home.

Then Lord Shiva came and asked Himavat permission to marry his daughter. Himavat readily agreed and thus Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati celebrated their wedding with great pomp and show.

After their marriage, Goddess Parvati gave birth to Lord Kartikeyan, who defeated and killed the evil demon Tarakasura.

True to her promise, after her marriage with Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati requested Lord Shiva to bring back Kamadeva to life. Smiling the Lord obliged and Rati got her husband back.
